A total of 20 teams will make up the colorful caravan of the Playa de Palma XXV Challenge Ciclista a Mallorca which will be held from the 28th to 31st of January 2016. Nine of the teams will come from the WorldTour.

The only Spanish team from that category, Movistar Team, tops the list of teams that also includes Team Sky (GBR), Lotto Soudal (BEL), IAM Cycling (SUI), FDJ (FRA), Team Dimesion Data (RSA) and Etixx-Quickstep (BEL) plus American teams Trek and Cannondale-Garmin.
 

Caja Rural-Seguros RGA (ESP), Cofidis Solutions Credits (FRA), Bora-Argon 18 (GER), Rusvelo (RUS), and Roth Skoda (SUI) will be the five representatives from the Professional Continental category while the four continental teams Burgos BH, Murias-Taldea, GM Cycling Team (ITA) and Bike Aid (GER) will also be in Mallorca.

For much of the year, many national teams are using the Majorcan roads to prepare for their objectives and so it is no surprise that the Spanish and British federations will be able to field teams in the four one-day races that make up the challenge.

 
The organizers would have been able to include more teams as there is great interest to be present in this special edition, the twenty-fifth, of a cycling race started in 1992 and which has always been a preferred training event for the best riders in the world.
