Marco Frapporti was one of the protagonists at the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race . The Androni - Venezuela rider was part of the early breakaway in his seasonal debut and did more than 100km at the front of the race.
The action did not go unnoticed by team manager Gianni Savio.
"Congratulations to Marco Frapporti who showed our race strategy. We wanted to honor the race dedicated to a rider who was able to win the Worlds and the Tour de France. Our presence at his farewell race shows how - despite a small controversy at the 2014 Giro - we admire a rider who represented clean cycling."
