Today’s World Championship was a really big disappointment for the British national team. Jonathan Tiernan-Locke didn’t start the World’s because of an on-going case with UCI and 0 out of 8 British riders finished the race.

But it was also a big disappointment for the British team Sky Procycling. Froome, Edmondson, Rowe, Eisel, Siutsou, Porte, Stannard, Thomas and Wiggins abandoned. Kanstantin Siutsou and Rigoberto Uran crashed during the route. All in all, it wasn’t the best day for the Sky team. Siutsou came back on the bike, but it looked more serious with Uran. He fell over the bike and hurt his leg. Instead of go back on the bike, he removed it from the road, so it wasn’t dangerous.

Today’s World’s was very rainy and the first World’s with rain since 1998. We learned from this year’s Giro d’Italia that Bradley Wiggins and rain isn’t the best combination. The Brit crashed when he drove downhill, even though he didn’t go down fast.

Tour winner Christopher Froome was captain for the British team and it looked good at the start. The team lead the peloton and Froome sat safely packed by his team. But then the rain came. Italy took the lead of the peloton and the Brits disappeared completely.

Chris Froome wasn’t the biggest favourite, but it was a very big target for him, he said. Even though he abandoned, he was able to be happy with his season.

"This has been a really big target for me. I've trained really hard for this. It is disappointing.

"But, having said that, I've got to bear in mind that this has been an amazing season for me regardless. This would have been a fantastic way to end it off but it is not to be," he said to Sky News.
