Valerio Agnoli is the next professional rider to sign a contract with BAHRAIN MERIDA Pro Cycling Team.

Valerio Agnoli, age 31 from Italy, turned professional in 2004. He had a very successful junior and amateur career, taking victories in many prestigious Italian races. For many years he was one of the main riders who helped Nibali reach for the podiums at grand tours. The newly established BAHRAIN MERIDA Pro Cycling Team are excited to see these two incredible riders attacking the podiums together again.

“I’m really proud to be involved in this project. I believe that new investors in cycling are very much needed and so everybody has to welcome Bahrain first of all for this reason. A project that I appreciate because it goes beyond cycling, presenting the good image of the Kingdom and its commitment to sport with the purpose of a healthy lifestyle. With my teammates we will be encouraged to do our best and to achieve top results to support this aim. I have to thank Nibali, who wanted me to be involved in this new team together with him. Between us the cycling relationship is a minimal part, because we are above all true friends also with our families and we trust each other. I‘ll give 1000% not to let him down. As usual I will be happier for a success of Vincenzo than for my personal result. I’ll give everything for him,” said Agnoli after he signed to be a part of MERIDA BAHRAIN Pro cycling Team.

General Manager of BAHRAIN MERIDA Pro Cycling Team Brent Copeland added:

“Having Valerio on the team signifies having a stamp of guarantee as an asset for the team, he is one of the most loyal teammates in the peloton, a classy rider who will help wherever needed and when given his own space he always delivers what is asked of him. The thing with Valerio is that you have the perfect combination of loyalty together with experience and mixing these qualities together into one rider only bears good fruit for the team in general. The team's technical staff  and I are very pleased to have him as part of the team.”
