Two skilled and strong cyclists Kanstantin Siutsou and Borut Božič today signed to be a part of new established team. Both cyclists will represent BAHRAIN MERIDA Pro Cycling Team colors in the coming season 2017.

The team has announced the agreement with Kanstantsin Siutsou for the seasons 2017 and 2018. In 2016 the Belorussian rider stood out at the Giro d’Italia, where he placed in the top ten of the GC and became the National Champion, both on the Road and in the Time Trial.

Siutsou’s professional debut was in 2005 as U23 Road World Champion with Fassa Bortolo, together with Vincenzo Nibali, his future team-mate. After that he has raced in some of the most important teams in the world of cycling. His experience in the Grand Tours will be a great support for the captains and the team will give him some respected and deserved individual opportunities.

“I’m really proud to join BAHRAIN MERIDA Pro Cycling Team, because I can put my experience to support a champion like Vincenzo Nibali. I’m looking forward to helping him during his next challenges as well as to supporting the captains appointed from time to time. I believe this team will get soon a lot of satisfactions”.

The second new and exciting signing for team BAHRAIN MERIDA Pro Cycling Team is Borut Božič. 36 years of age, he turned professional in 2004. He is an important part of Grand Tours in which he will continue to be an essential asset to help achieving the team's goals. With his skills and experiences he will be one of the main riders who will help the leaders in the team. He has an incredible ability to cover many areas and roles as an athlete.

“I decided to be a part of the new team because after many years in the pro cycling I will be a part of the new established team which is being formed and coming together nicely. The fact that I know many people already from the team and that I fully trust them is another reason I decided to join. I can hardly wait for the new season and I am really happy that I am still able to compete on the top level and I’m sure that the team will have a program which will suit me and their needs. My main task in the team is that I will help younger cyclists with my experiences which I’ve got in all those many years being a part of the pro cycling world.”

General Manager of BAHRAIN MERIDA Pro Cycling Team Brent Copeland commented after the two new cyclists joined the team:

“For our team the signing of Kanstantin and Borut is a very important step as they contribute hugely in helping to build the foundations and the base of the team. With these two very experienced riders we are even that much more confident when going into the races. They are riders that can cover many roles on the road which in today's cycling world is always more important. We are very excited to see them racing in our exciting new team."
