Caja Rural - Seguros RGA will be represented at the European Championships this Sunday with both Carlos Barbero and Diego Rubio being selected for the Spanish national team in Plumelec.
The course takes place on an undulating 13.9 km circuit with an uphill finish, which the riders will have to do a total of 17 times before deciding the winner. Barbero has shown good shape recently and the 25-year-old fast Spaniard enters the race very motivated.
Carlos Barbero said:
“I’ve been feeling good in my last races and to be called up for the national team is an extra motivation for me. It’s very exciting. The circuit here has a hard uphill section and after climbing it so many times, I’m sure this will be an elimination race”.
The Caja Rural - Seguros RGA riders are also in action on Saturday in the Italian one-day race Memorial Marco Pantani. Here, the team lines up with the following eight riders: Javier Aramendia, Jonathan Lastra, Ricardo Vilela, Héctor Sáez, Domingos Gonçalves, Miguel Ángel Benito, Antonio Molinaand Fabricio Ferrari.
