Ag2r have announced their line-up for the Volta a Catalunya which starts on Monday. The team will be led by Romain Bardet and Domenico Pozzovivo who was third and won a stage in 2015.
"Volta a Catalunya 2016 is harder than the previous year," sports director Stephane Goubert said. "For instance, the first stage around Catella is tougher but the next stages are also very tricky. Last year Domenico Pozzovivo finished 3rd, only 5 seconds behind the winner (Richie Porte). It’s a race where you have to be careful until the last km.
"This year, Romain Bardet, after a consistent Paris-Nice, has real ambitions. He will share the leadership with Domenico Pozzovivo. We aim at a stage victory and a podium, such as last year.
"Volta a Catalonya has a high level participation. We won’t have to take the lead and we will try to seize opportunities."
