It was a solid result for sprinter Andrea Piechele in Tour of Austria’s stage 5.
The stage was won by Johann Van Zyl (MTN), who resisted the comeback of the peloton. Behind him Tanner (IAM Cycling) won the sprint for 2nd with Andrea Piechele in a good 10th place.
”Most part of the sprint was decided in a corner 500 meters to go from where I came out in the first positions. The road went up slightly and with 300 meters to go some riders passed me. I lost the chance to get a spot on the podium. However I can be satifisfied with the 10th place because at the start of the race I didn’t feel well due to a virus, but now I’m coming back into shape and I look with more confidence to the next days,” Andrea Piechele said.
