Bardiani-CSF have won the 2016 Coppa Italia, the season-long series made up of the biggest Italian races. Even before today's final ace GranPiemonte, Wilier Triestina-Southeast could no longer pass the green formation fo Bruno Reverberi. With the win, the team is guaranteed a wildcard for the Giro d'Italia.
Bardiani-CSF's victory is mainly due to the many recent wins of Sonny Colbrelli who will leave the team and join Bahrain-Merida next year.. The 26-year-old Italian has recently won Coppa Sabatini, Coppa Agostoni and Tre Valli Varesine and today he was fifth in GranPiemonte. The team also won Sunday's GP Beghelli with Nicola Ruffoni.
