Ivan Basso is currently deciding whether he will return in the professional peloton after being diagnosed with cancer during the Tour de France. After a crash during the French race, doctors discovered a cancerous tumour in his left teticle. The Tinkoff-Saxo cyclist went to Milan to remove it with successful.
The former Giro d'Italia winner told Gazzetta dello Sport he is under supervision. "The controls are continuous. The decisive one will be in September. I’m interested in riding again, that’s the number one objective because if you do this for 30 years you need to get back on the bike. I’ll decide further ahead because it’s clear that a reflection needs to be made. I’m lucky to discover something that could have become enormous."
