Belkin will line up at the Tour of Alberta with a focus on stage wins. Theo Bos will target the sprints while Sep Vanmarcke and Jonathan Hivert will go for the win on the harder days.

The Belkin Pro Cycling TEAM has his sights set on stage victories in the Tour of Alberta. The Canadian stage race starts Tuesday, September 2 with a prologue through Calgary, and ends five days later.

“We have traveled to Canada with a great team,” said Sports Director Michiel Elijzen, who is happy about the composition of the team he has at his disposal. “We have quick guys and men who can climb.”

Therefore Elijzen sees opportunities on two fronts.

“I see two possibilities for Theo Bos, in stages three and four. Those are our days for Theo, and we are going to do everything we can for him. On the other days, we want to take on an attacking mentality. We also have riders to do that.”

Elijzen explains.

“We certainly have opportunities to win a stage through a breakaway or a sprint with a small group. I’m thinking of men like Jonathan Hivert and Sep Vanmarcke.”

The overall is not a main goal for the Belkin Pro Cycling TEAM.

“We’ll take a look at the GC after the prologue, but I think we’ll essentially focus on stage wins.”

TEAM line-up:

Theo Bos, Jonathan Hivert, Steven Kruijswijk, Tom Leezer, Nick van der Lijke, David Tanner, Sep Vanmarcke and Dennis van Winden.
