Grega Bole continues to show that he is still capable of mixing it up with the best despite now riding for the continental Vini Fantini team. Yesterday the Slovenian took his second podium spot in less than a week when he finished second in the Memorial Marco Pantani.
One year ago, Grega Bole was forced to step down to continental level when the Vacansoleil team folded. Vini Fantini threw him a late lifeline but the former Dauphiné stage winner and winner of the GP Plouay was no longer able to do the biggest races.
Earlier this week he showed that he is still a very capable bike rider when he finished second in the Coppa Agostoni and yesterday he repeated that result in the Memorial Marco Pantani.
"I am happy with the result because I did my best," he told Spaziociclismo. "Sonny Cobrelli was faster and better on the climbs. I lost a bit of ground but was able to reoin the bunch.
"Tomorrow I will do the the GP Prato but I don't know how I will do. Today was hard and I feel a little tired. We will have to see how the legs respond."
