Nacer Bouhanni will not be so decidedly out of place when he joins the Cofidis team. Also joining the talented French sprinter and his pilot fish Geoffrey Soupe is his coach, Jacques Decrion, who will leave FDJ to continue to train the Northener. With the recruitment of the former cyclist, 52, Cofidis’ intentions are clear: put everything in place for Nacer Bouhanni to be in the best shape as swiftly as possible.
The Cofidis team has announced the arrival in a press release. "If the number of riders this time is complete, the staff of the team will be strengthened with the arrival of Jacques Decrion as coach. (...) He was these past ten years FDJ.fr’s coach. Jacques Decrion will continue to follow Nacer Bouhanni and Geoffrey Soup with whom he has worked in recent years. He will also bring professionalism and experience to the entire workforce, in collaboration with members of the current staff."
There are also some strong rumours linking Bouhanni's telented younger brother Rayanne, who was second in the Peace Race and is current Junior French Champion, to Cofidis. It is unclear whether he will ride as a stagaire in 2015 or wil be singned permanently.
