All eyes were on Daniel Diaz and Nairo Quintana in the queen stage of the Tour de San Luis but it was domestique Kleber Da Silva (Funvic) who stole the spotlight. Despite having worked hard for Diaz duing most o fhte final climb, he still had enough left in the tank to distance the big-name riders and take the biggest win of his career.
When Kleber Da Silva did all the work on the final climb of the queen stage of the Tour de San Luis, few had expected the Brazilian to be in contention for the stage win. However, the Funvic rider showed impressive power to go with the late attacks before distancing Rodolfo Torres with 100m to go.
"Today is one of the most important victories of my career, I am very happy," he said. "I must thank the team who did a great job. I got ready for this race and this victory repays all the work and sacrifices that I have faced to get here in good condition. I'm really proud and happy with both my victory today and for the ultimate success of my teammate Diaz. "
