Challenge Mallorca begins on Thursday. The four-day race is a bit unlike all the others on the calendar. Although each race is bound by the “Challenge Mallorca” umbrella, every day is treated as a stand-alone race – and as such, teams can change line-ups on a daily basis.
Cannondale bring nine riders to fill eight spots daily, which means the director will choose one rider each day to be “rested” while the other eight race.
The #GreenArgyle Challenge Mallorca nine are:
Matti Breschel
Kristijan Koren
Sebastian Langeveld
Alan Marangoni
Ryan Mullen
Ramunas Navardauskas
Toms Skuijns
Tom-Jelte Slagter
Dylan Van Baarle
“I would like to see the riders transition from training to racing, working on the mechanisms riding as a team in a competitive environment, familiarizing themselves with life in the peloton after many weeks of training alone or in small groups," sports director Charly Wegelius said. "They will also make race efforts, which will further refine their conditions following the recent team camp in Girona. For the two neo-pros in the group, Mallorca is a chance to dip their toes in the water and get stuck in the racing"
