For the second time in the a row, CCC Sprandi Polkowice will participate in the Amstel Gold Race. The Dutch event is one of the UCI World Tour races.
"We are very proud that the organizers decided that we are worthy of a wild card invitation and we will again take part in this race. Last year Jaroslaw Marycz was riding in the breakaway of the day and Davide Rebellin finished 13th. This year we want to improve that result. We will also try to be active and we want to be remembered from that race in a best possible way," sporting director Piotr Wadecki said. "It’s another big step in the development of our team and confirmation that we are heading in the right direction. We have more and more top level races in our calendar, we are racing against the best riders in the world more often and this must lead to improvement of our skills and results that we achieve in future."
The 50th edition of Amstel Gold Race will be held on April 19th.
For the Polkowice-based team it will be the second UCI World Tour one-day race in the season after Milan-San Remo. The team will also participate in Il Lombardia in October.
The other teams that received the wild card invitations for Amstel Gold Race are Team Wanty-Gobert, CULTEnergyProCycling, Nippo Vini Fantini, Team MTN-Qhubeka, Team Roompot, Topsport Vlaanderen-Baloise and Bardiani - CSF.
