CCC Sprandi Polkowice will compete against 10 UCI World Tour teams in Dubai Tour (4-7.02), the first HC race for the “orange team” in the 2015 season.
"Racing in Mallorca was a great way to start the season. We had a chance to take the speed to another level, comparing to our training rides. It should be beneficial for us in the upcoming races. The riders should approach Dubai Tour with less stress, since they have their season debut behind them," Piotr Wadecki, director sportif, said. "The biggest names from the professional peloton will be in Dubai, so the level of racing should be very high. On one hand it will be harder to achieve good results but on the other these races are crucial if you want to improve your form and skills."
Dubai Tour consists of 4 stages. Three of them are flat (stage 1,2 and 4) and one ends with the uphill finish to Hatta. Because of the diversified route the team will include both sprinters (Grega Bole, Grzegorz Stepniak) and climbers (Sylwester Szmyd). Christian Delle Stelle, Jaroslaw Marycz, Łukasz Owsian, Adrian Kurek and Maciej Paterski, who performed well in Mallorca, will round out the roster.
10 UCI World Tour teams will be competing in Dubai and Mark Cavendish, Vincenzo Nibali, John Degenkolb, Alejandor Valverde and Philippe Gilbert will be among the biggest stars of the event.
Dubai Tour is organized by RCS Sport, the organizer of Giro d’Italia. CCC Sprandi Polkowice received a wildcard invitation for the Italian Grand Tour.
