The same CCC Sprandi Polkowice roster which put in a solid performance in De Brabantse Pijl, will tackle the one-day UCI World Tour event, Amstel Gold Race.
"De Brabantse Pijl has shown that the form of our riders is improving and it should peak at Amstel Gold Race. The entire line-up did a great job and rode very well as a team. Despite the massive selection, we still managed to have four of our guys in the main, shattered group," sporting director of CCC Sprandi Polkowice Piotr Wadecki explains.
"Davide Rebellin and Maciej Paterski will be the team’s leaders for the Dutch event. For both of them it’s a very important race – Davide has won it and Maciej who quickly returned to his racing rhythm after injury, has claimed one of his best results in his career here . Łukasz Owsian’s and Simone Ponzi’s task will be to stay with the leaders as long as possible and help them in the finale. They’ve proved in the region of Brabant that they are capable of maintaining a fast pace late in the race."
"Amstel Gold Race is a very prestigious event so it’s crucial to make our presence known also in the breakaway. Jarosław Marycz, Josef Cerny, Adrian Kurek and Leszek Pluciński will try to make it happen," he adds.
Last year’s edition was very successful not only for CCC Sprandi Polkowice, but for Polish cycling in general. Maciej Paterski made the top 10 by taking 9th place and Michał Kwiatkowski took the win, wearing the world champion jersey.
