Bryan Coquard had hoped to win the 4 Days of Dunkirk overall but he dropped to second behind Ignatas Konovalovas in the queen stage.
"It is difficult to accept, but that's racing," he told L'Equipe. "I fought. In the team, everyone gave the maximum, we have nothing to regret. I got attacked. I lacked strength in the final and I was beaten by a stronger ride. In the penultimate lap, I felt I was on the verge of collapsing. Eleventh in the stage is not bad but it is insufficient. I'm 20 seconds behind, there are 19 bonus seconds in the last stage. It is impossible to win the race. "
