Arnaud Demare (FDJ, 1991) will have a French start to 2016 in his bid for the Belgian spring classics where he had several disappointments last year.

Etoile de Bessèges, Tour Méditerranéen, Omloop Het Niewsblad, Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne, Paris-Nice, Milan-San Remo, Ghent-Wevelgem, Three Days of De Panne, Tour of Flanders and Paris-Roubaix will make up the first part of his year.

Unlike in 2015 (Qatar and Oman), he will start at home and then head to Paris-Nice and the most important classics where he hopes to be at his best.

Demare only got two wins last year, two stages in the Tour of Belgium. He was 23rd in de Ronde and 37th in Roubaix. It was far from his 15 victories in 2014 when he was French champion. He got his first big WorldTour win in 2012 when he won the Vattenfall Cyclassics while he raised his arms in the Tour of Switzerland and the Eneco Tour in 2013. In 2011, he was  U23 world champion.
