The UCI World Tour continues with the Volta Ciclista a Catalunya being the next stage race on the calendar. Starting on Monday 21 March, riders will take on 7 tough road stages before finishing in Barcelona on Sunday 27 March.

It will be the first time Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka  willrace the Volta Ciclista a Catalunya and they will have a competitive squad lining up at the start in Calella on Monday. While stages 3 and 4 could both be considered the mountain stages where the most time should be gained or lost, there is not a single flat stage in the other 5 stages. A top general classification result will require consistency and strong team support.

Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka have an exciting team lining up for the Volta Ciclista a Catalunya. With so much climbing on the cards, Merhawi Kudus, Omar Fraile and Igor Anton will be in their element throughout the week. Cameron Meyer and Kanstanstin Siutsou are two proven riders when it comes to week long stage race consistency and both are looking forward to racing in Catalunya again.

Bernhard Eisel also makes a return to racing at the Volta Ciclista a Catalunya after recovering from his broken collarbone, sustained at the Tour of Dubai earlier this year. Johann van Zyl and Adrien Niyonshuti round out the team for the Spanish World Tour event.

Sports director Alex Sans Vega said:

"We have another exciting week ahead of us, racing our next World Tour race. There is a really strong startlist for the race, it's almost like a mini Tour de France with riders like Froome, Contador, Quintana, Aru, Porte and others all here. It is mainly a hilly course and we have a team suited for the terrain with Merhawi, Anton, Siutsou and Omar while the other guys will provide strong support. A stage win will be our main focus and if the circumstances are in our favour, and the riders have the legs for a top 10 GC result, we will support this."
