Neri Sottoli have renewed the contract of one of their key riders. Tour de Limousin winner Mauro Finetto has signed a one-year extension and will stay with the team in 2015.

Some years ago Mauro Finetto faced the prospect of a premature end to his career. In 2012, he was unable to find a team and had to sit a year out before he returned to the professional peloton with Luca Scinto's Neri Sottoli team.

In his new team, he has confirmed the talent that saw him win two stages of the Tour of Turkey in 2009 and he has now developed into one of the most consistent riders on the Italian racing scene. In 2014, he took three wins, the one-day race GP Lugano in the beginning of the year and a stage and the overall victory in the Tour de Limousin in August.

Today Neri Sottoli have announced that they have extended Finetto's contract for another year.

"I am very satisfied with the way the last two years have gone," he says. "2014 was important. In Italy I could measure myself against the best and I only miss a little before I am able to make the final step. The team has allowed me to grow and I know I can get great results to pay back the confidence Neri Sottoli showed me after a 2012 to forget. I had been away for a year and here I found a spot.

"We are also sponsored by ALE 'and Cipollini, who have their base in Verona, and this also makes me feel even more connected to the team and makes me want to achieve big goals. My contract has been renewed for one year and in the future we'll see. Meanwhile, I'm sure I can do very well and this next season could leave a mark in my career. I will give my best."
