One year ago Ramon Sinkeldam proved his spriting potential when he finished 3rd overall in the 4 Jours de Dunkerque and this year he hopes to improve on that performance when he lines up in the 5-day race that traditionally suits the sprinters. His Giant-Shimano team will line up a roster loaded with fast finishers as it also includes Nikias Arndt and Jonas Ahlstrand.

Ramon Sinkeldam returns to racing this week at Dunkerque after a brief rest period following a busy classics campaign.

In 2013, Sinkeldam finished third overall and went close to taking a stage on more than one occasion. For 2014, he is joined by young sprinters Nikias Arndt and Jonas Ahlstrand together with new signing Brian Bulgac.

It will be Bulgac's first stage race with the team and a good way for him to keep developing his teamwork with his new teammates.

The race is formed of five stages, which although generally flat present other difficulties such as nervous, narrow roads and high possibilities of crosswinds to cause havoc in the peloton.

"This is a race that the team likes and has done well in previously," said coach Christian Guiberteau.

"We will target a stage win and we have Nikias and Ramon who are suited to the parcours, as well as Jonas who has come on a long way this year and took his first win in Sarthe."
