Team Giant-Shimano may have decided to let their classics captain John Degenkolb stay at home but this doesn't mean that the Dutch team is without its options in today's Omloop Het Nieuwsblad. With Dries Devenyns and Reinhardt Janse Van Rensburg, the team have two genuine top 10 candidates and some of the team's riders took the chance to look forward to today's first big classic.

Dries Devenyns (BEL)
It's like I am back at school counting down the minutes until the end of the day. I can't wait for tomorrow. So far my preparation has been good. I've spent a lot of time on Saturday's parcours to get used to the specific rhythm of riding on the cobbles and attacking the climbs. I am confident that together we can do a good performance.

Roy Curvers (NED)
Leading into Saturday my preparation for the classics has been almost perfect. I have been really impressed by the general level of everyone on the team and how well everyone is working together in the races so far. I'm curious to see how this will pan out over the weekend - the motivation and legs are there we just need to execute the plan.

Reinardt Janse van Rensburg (RSA)
I'm really excited for tomorrow and I'm looking forward to testing my legs in a genuinely tough classic. I am satisfied with my pre-season preparation and how the form has been coming on in races so far. I hope to be there deep into the final tomorrow - once we get to Ronse the race will light up and the combination of climbs and cobbles will take their toll on the peloton. It is vital that we stay together as a team and at the front.

Koen De Kort (NED)
I'm looking forward to getting back out there. I've done the training and the motivation is definitely there. We rode the final 100km of Omloop Het Nieuwsblad last week when testing some new Vittoria tyres and the Giant Defy Advanced SL bikes and that will be handy, knowing what is coming and when.

Ramon Sinkeldam (NED)
I have felt pretty good for the last few weeks now so the form is building nicely for the classics campaign. We rode a lot of the route for Omloop Het Nieuwsblad a week ago on the new bikes and tyres. I think from the Kruisberg to Donderij will be very important in the approach to the Taaienberg. Normally the race is decided there.
