Marc Goos still has problems with his hip. The 24-year-old rider has been on crutches for two months and is expected to come for spend four more months there. There is a real risk he will miss the full season.
"I can do nothing for the time being," says Goos to Omroep Brabant. "I wont burden my hip. Even physiotherapy is not going to help. I have only myself to amuse, but I cannot. That's pretty fucked up. "
The misery began in June last year. In the opening stage of the Tour of Switzerland, the rider from LottoNL-Jumbo broke his hip. This also damaged a blood vessel that controls the supply of nutrients to his bone, which is now prohibited.
Because of the persistent complaints, he threatens to completely miss this season. "I get the short term news to see how the recovery further comes out. The final scans are analyzed and a path shall be determined on the basis of that."
