Dylan Groenewegen can begin his preparation for next season. On Tuesday a scan revealed that the future LottoNL-Jumbo rider’s knee has healed. He has announced on Twitter that he can therefore train seriously again.
Groenewegen who rode for Roompot Orange Peloton in 2015, broke his kneecap in September when he crashed in the Kapioenschap van Vlaanderen after a collision with Jens Debusschere in the final sprint. It cost him the chance to do the U23 race at the World Championships in Richmond.
Last weekend Groenewegen spent just twenty minutes on the bike. Yesterday he was given the green light to train fully again.
