There was double satisfaction for Cannondale Pro Cycling in the last stage of Tour of Alberta. Peter Sagan claimed his third win in the Canadian race winning the final sprint while Damiano Caruso took the 3rd place in the general classification.
The Slovakian champion ruled the sprint with a powerful burst after the last corner.
"It was the decisive point of the finale" explained Sagan "and it was important to be at the front. The final straight was too short and fast, there was no time to come back. I'm really happy for the results I achieved here in Canada as well as the performances. It was the ideal approach for Quebec and Montreal and to prepare the Worlds. I like to race in North America."
Together with the victory, Sagan also won the points jersey of the race. The number of his personal wins in this season is now 21, while Cannondale Pro Cycling has notched up 33 victories in all.
