The Bayern-Rundfahrt ended with a 169.8 km stage from Kelheim to Nürnberg, finishing with 10 laps on a circuit around the city’s medieval centre, where Heinrich Haussler (IAM Cycling) was the strongest in the sprint.
The break of the day consisted of Mickaël Chérel (FDJ), Jetse Bol (Blanco Pro Cycling), Alex Frame (Thüringer Energie Team) and Grischa Janorschke (Nutrixxion-ABUS), with Janorschke winning the three intermediate sprints and thereby winning back the blue points jersey from Gerald Ciolek (MTN-Qhubeka). Although they had a gap of up to 4 minutes, the peloton gradually closed in on the final circuit in Nürnberg.
Bol and Frame still had a small advantage at the 1 km mark, but were overtaken by the sprinters with 500 m to go. IAM Cycling’s Heinrich Haussler won the sprint ahead of Juan José Lobato (Euskaltel-Euskadi) and Yauheni Hutarovich (AG2R La Mondiale), Adriano Malori wins the overall classification.
