Ben Hermans of the BMC Racing Team was runner-up on Friday's finish atop the Kitzbüheler Horn mountain at the Tour of Austria to hold onto second place overall with two days to go.
Hermans arrived 76 seconds after stage winner Victor De La Parte (Team Vorarlberg), who had been sitting one second behind him in the overall standings overnight.
De La Parte, who also won Wednesday's stage, is the new race leader, 1:20 ahead of Hermans. Previous yellow jersey wearer Jan Hirt (CCC Sprandi-Polkowice) finished third on the day and slid to third overall, 1:31 back.
Two other BMC Racing Team riders finished in the top 10: Dylan Teuns was sixth, 2:15 back of the stage winner, and Brent Bookwalter was eighth, two seconds after Teuns.
"Tomorrow is a flat stage but the last day is hard, with two first category climbs," BMC Racing Team Sport Director Valerio Piva said. "I think a podium result is possible because Ben is riding super strongly and he is very motivated."
