Danish neo-pro Magnus Cort has sprinted to a top ten place at GP Ouest-France today. Cort’s ORICA-GreenEDGE teammates placed themselves in a number of late moves to try to break up the race, but in the end the race came down to a bunch kick won by Alexander Kristoff (Team Katusha).

"The guys really followed the plan and everything considered, top-ten with Magnus today was a good result,” sport director Laurenzo Lapage said.

“In Plouay, the most likely scenario is a reduced bunch sprint and that was what we were preparing for.

"Simon Yates and Michael Albasini had the freedom to go on the attack and Alba did a good move on the last climb, but there were too many strong riders left to close the gaps and keep it together for a sprint.

“Magnus got boxed in a little at the end, but he still managed to get a good result. We have quite a few guys who are on the up and today definitely bodes well for the upcoming races."
