André Greipel got the perfect final preparation for the Tour de France when he won two stages and the overall at the Ster ZLM Toer. He now turns his attention to the national championships where he aims to win the title for the third year in a row.
"For me and my team, a great week has just ended," he wrote on his website. "Two stage wins and the overall victory in the ZLM Toer are more than we could have hoped for. Furthermore, we had another chance to work on our automatisms - first and foremost our sprint train - under racing conditions in view to the Tour de France. I think we are on the right track and the mood is relaxed and optimistic.
"My form is good and now it is necessary to maintain it until the beginning of July and perhaps even improve it a bit. But before we will fight for victories in France, I will try to defend my nice jersey next weekend at the German Championships in Bensheim. The course for the road race should not easy and we will again just be two riders against much larger teams, but Marcel Sieberg and I won't give the jersey away without a fight."
