Bob Jungels showed he was strong on a three-week race. The Trek Factory Racing finished 27th on the general classification. The 22-year-old did a great performance and he was often in the breakaway and on stage 18, he crossed the finish line at the 4th place, one minute behind Romain Bardet (Ag2r la Mondiale).

Interviewed by Cyclingnews, Jungels told about his first participation on the July race. "It's really special, I mean it has been a pretty crazy third week for me, it's been a really good one and I am so, so happy to finish this Tour in this good way. It's been a pleasure to be here with Bauke (Mollema) and to a top ten. We have achieved most of our goals so it is been a successful Tour for us."

On this edition, his role was to be present for his leader, but he could play his personel card. "For sure, I did three top tens. It's small things but to arrive here in front of Contador… if somebody would have had told me, I wouldn't believed it. It's special but I am super glad to finish off so well."

Asked if he is the Andy and Fränk Schleck successor, he answered this Tour was nothing special but can take confidence: "That's always the biggest step to go from. Now, I am maybe top 30 or something but lets see in the next years what's coming. I still have a long way to go but I am looking forward to it."
