It is unlikely that Bob Jungels will participate in this summer’s Olympics in Rio, as the event does not fit into his schedule. So Jungels told the Luxembourger daily L'essentiel.
"It is difficult to fight with the riders coming from the Tour de France," Jungels says. "So I guess I will not [be at the Olympics]. But, I have yet to talk to the union, ultimately they decide." Last year, the 23-year-old rider missed out on the world championships in Richmond.
Last week, Jungels finished sixth overall in the Giro d'Italia. On June 24, he returns to racing again. Then the Luxembourg Championship will feature on his race itinerary. Then he rides the Tour of Poland. Later in the season, the World Championships time trial is an important goal for Jungels.
