Yves Lampaert (Etixx-QuickStep) continued his breakthrough season when he finished second at the Belgian time trial championships.
"I started my time trial moderately and then went full gas in the second half. There was not much to do against Van den Broeck's superiority. That second place was the best possible result," Lampaert told Het Nieuwsblad. "Honestly, I think I should specialize in prologues. My position is not as aerodynamic as it should be for a long time trial. In a prologue, I can rely on my power. Maybe with some more training it would have been different, but I doubt it. This year I've taken another step forward in terms of power and wattage.
"My ambition is to win these championships in a few years. I will continue to work in this discipline season after this season. I'm a little too heavy and not aerodynamic enough to be strong in a long time trial."
