Daniel Oss, runner-up on Stage 11, joined teammates Adam Blythe, Steve Cummings, Evans, Steve Morabito, Ivan Santaromita and Danilo Wyss as finishers.
Oss was the only BMC Racing Team rider who had not competed in the Giro before. "It was a great opportunity and I gave all my best for the result (on Stage 11)," he said. "It was an opportunity to help Cadel, one of the best riders in the world, so it was a great experience. I'm not a climber so the climbs were a problem. But I felt good the whole race. The team and the whole staff were perfect."
Morabito finished despite crashing on Tuesday's Stage 16 and breaking a bone in his left wrist. No surgery will be required, said BMC Racing Team Chief Medical Officer Dr. Max Testa. Morabito said he couldn't quit knowing Evans needed his help. "I had a lot of pain but I was really focused on staying in the race and to keep going," Morabito said. "But there was a lot of pain."
