Daniel Navarro will once again be an important member of the Cofidis team in 2017. After finishing his 2016 season with a crash during the 19th stage of the Tour de France, the Spaniard hopes that his 2017 season will not be shortened in the same way.
On the website of the Spanish federation, Navarro has unveiled his race calendar. Like last year, he will make his debut in Spain with the series of races in Valencia, Murcia and Andalusia.
"My idea is to start like in recent years, having a good start but without doing too much because the season can be very long.”
He will then be at the start of Paris-Nice for the first time since 2013 when he finished in twelfth place.
"I am very excited to ride again in this race which is well suited to my climber characteristics."
He will with WorldTour races even though he will skip the Tour of Catalonia. His next race is the Tour of the Basque Country before he will take part in the Ardennes Classics. After a period of rest, he will attack the main part of the season with the Critérium du Dauphiné and the Tour de France with a clear goal:
"The purpose of the season is the Tour and the idea is to get a stage win.”
