Miguel Angel Benito (Caja Rural) was agonizingly close to his first pro win when he finished third from a breakaway in stage 3 of the Vuelta a Burgos. Meanwhile, his teammates David Arroyo who crashed in the TTT and Amets Txurruka who went down in Circuito de Getxo are recovering from injuries.
"Arroyo and Txurruka both managed to get through the stage and we have to see how things evolve in the next stages. The assessment is positive. We were present and have been contesting the stage. It was a big opportunity for Benito but he could not take advantage of it," sports director Eugenio Goikoetxea said.
