The organizing committee of Dwars Door Vlaanderen has officially stated that their race which is taking place a week and a half before the Tour of Flanders (two days before E3 Grand Prix Harelbeke) hopes to move to the Wednesday before the monument in 2018.
That is the date usually reserved for the second stage of the 3 Days of de Panne. That race may now pay the price for their refusal to join the Flanders Classics group, just like E3 Harelbeke.
If the UCI accommodates the wish of Dwars door Vlaanderen which will be a WorldTour race from 2017, it remains to be seen what will happen to the stage race which has traditionally been a key preparation race for the Tour of Flanders.
