Sebastian Langeveld had further testing today following his heavy crash at E3 Harelbeke, showing a deep knee contusion with a bone bruise at the tibia.
This is a very painful injury. His health is Cannondale-Garmin's top priority and he and we will now focus on his recovery. Alan Marangoni will replace him in Gent-Wevelgem.
DS Andreas Klier says: "We have a strong group of young riders. It's a shame to lose our leader Sebastian, especially because he was in great form, but that gives the riders here even more motivation to give a good performance. It's a young team, and they have shown at the races this week that they are willing to give everything. We hope to impress again tomorrow and also continue to give the guys more experience for the future."
