Nairo Quintana wants be the first Colombian to win the Tour of France. According to Cyclingnews, the Movistar Team leader is currently in south of France to recon some mountain stages.
Following his podium at the Vuelta a Pais Vasco, he headed to the Pyrenees with teammate Gorka Izagirre to study mountain stages. He recently climbed the Col d'Aspin and tested the descent to finish (stage 7). He checked the Col du Tourmalet and the Col de Peyresourde (stage 8) and the mountain top finish in Andorre-Arcalis (stage 9).
"I’ve been training well, but there’s a long way to go for the Tour, so I have to be cautious. But I am ready for the challenges," he said.
