On Wednesday, March 9, there was snow on the road at Paris-Nice, even so much so that the riders stepped into the car in the feed zone. The stage was set to end at the top of Mount Brouilly and one day later race director Christian Prudhomme announced on radio tour that the 2017 Paris-Nice would return to the climb. Now Le Progrès reports that the plans for the new stage have been made.
The newspaper announced today that Mont Brouilly will host the finish of the third stage on Wednesday, March 8. However, there will be no double passage as planned this year because the stage is set to be a time trial, starting in Beaujeu (about ten kilometers from the summit of Mont Brouilly). Accoriding to Le Progrès, the second stage will finish in Chalon-sur-Saône and the start of the fourth stage will be close to Mont Brouilly, a 3km climb that averages 7.7%.
Geraint Thomas won the 2016 edition of the race.
