On Wednesday, Joaquim Rodriguez will make his debut at the Dubai Tour, a four-day race in the United Arab Emirates. "This year, I decided to start a little later than in recent years as I want to do the Tour and the Vuelta. That's why I will debut in Dubai and not in Argentina," he said. "It's a race that left me feeling very good last year and I think it is a great race to start the season due to its organization, good weather and good routes."
Rodriguez makes it clear that he will arrive in good condition despite the lack of racing. "The sensation are good for this time of season but in Dubai it will be difficult to get any results. I will be try to build condition," he said. "We have a great team and I think both young Sergei Chernetckii and Angel Vicioso will be the leaders in this race."
Simon Špilak, Aleksandr Porsev, Anton Vorobyev, Eduard Vorganov and Egor Silin complete the Katusha roster that will be led by Portuguese José Azevedo.
Joaquim Rodríguez's schedule will continue with the Tour of Oman, Tirreno-Adriatico, Volta Catalunya, Amstel Gold Race, Fleche Wallonne, Liège-Bastogne-Liège, Dauphiné, Tour de France, Classic San Sebastian, Vuelta a Espana, World Championships, Milan- Turin, Giro del Piemonte and Il Lombardia.
