The first week of the Vuelta a España ended with the 10th stage from Valencia to Castellón over 146,6 km and decided in a sprint, won by Kristian Sbaragli from MTN-Qhubeka. Sbaragli outsprinted John Degenkolb from Giant-Alpecin and José Joaquín Rojas from Movistar.
The best Katusha rider was Eduard Vorganov, who finished 19th. Vorganov, as well as Tiago Machado and Vladimir Isaychev, were part of the huge breakaway of 40 riders, which was completely neutralized in the final part of the race.
No changes in the general classification: Tom Dumoulin holds the red jersey while Katusha’s leader Joaquim Rodriguez is second, 57 seconds behind.
Tomorrow is the first rest day at the Vuelta. Team Katusha will spend it in Andorra La Vella. While most of the peloton faced a long transfer by bus, Rodriguez returned to his home in Andorra by helicopter.
"We will fly to #andorra. Now we want to rest and be with the family," he tweeted after the stage.
