Having finished fourth in the Tour de l'Avenir, Alexander Foliforov will join the professional ranks in 2015. The young Russian has signed a contract with the pro continental Rusvelo team.
Alexander Foliforov, one of the most talented young Russian climbers, has signed for the next two years for RusVelo. He had a solid season with ITERA-Katusha continental team and now steps up to the pro continental level.
RusVelo team manager Renat Khamidulin said:
“Alexander has shown a lot of promise for the latest, we are sure he has a lot of success in store for him in the coming years. There are some races where you can’t perform well by a lucky chance, they are clear indicators of what a rider is capable of. Le Tour de l’Avenir is one of them, sometimes nicknamed a “Tour de France for the youngsters”, and there is not much exaggeration in it. Foliforov finished fourth in the GC of the French race this year, placing on mountain stage podiums a couple of times along the way, which speaks for itself. The fans can be sure they will have a guy to cheer for on hard climbs”.
