Czech rider Zdenek Stybar will target Paris-Roubaix in 2014 after his terrific 6th place in his debut ride in "The Hell of the North" last year where many people saw him as a potential winner until he unfortunately crashed.
"The Spring Classics, in general, are really a big goal for me," Stybar said at the Media Day of OPQS in Calpe. "I love these races and hopefully prepare for them too, not just for me, but as a team. I want to help Tom Boonen win as much as possible . A few years ago I didn't think that in my first Roubaix I would reach the Top 10 . I'm very happy because people think I can possibly do well there again in 2014."
In his third season in the team run by Patrick Lefevere , Stybar (28) made a huge leap: after knee surgery he won two stages and the GC of the Eneco Tour and won a stage of the Tour of Spain to beat Gilbert in Aljafare Mairena, and in the spring classics was sixth at Paris- Roubaix after a fall cost him his chance of victory when he shared the race lead with Fabian Cancellara and Sep Vanmarcke .
