In Tartu, Estonia, Rein Taaramäe was up against som unfamiliar competition as he lined up for som cyclo-cross racing in his home country.
The Astana rider concluded his road season in September at the World Championships, but in the winter period he likes to race cyclo-cross. Saturday he lined up in the Tartu Christmass Cross in Ropka Park in Tartu, where riders were competing on both cross bikes, mountainbikes, and fat bikes - and some of them in Santa Claus costumes.
As the video below shows, Taaramäe was in a class of his own and won the race in front of Caspar Austa anmd Vahur Valvas. The race was Taaramäe's final race in the Astana jersey, as he moves to Katusha for next season.
