The World Championship road race will take place in one month and we know already the name of riders members of the Dutch team. Niki Terpstra (Etixx-Quick Step) will lead his national team in Virginia according to a report in Sport.be.
The Dutch champion will have the support of Lars Boom (Astana Pro Team), Tom Dumoulin (Giant Alpecin), Sebastian Langeveld (Cannondale Garmin), Bauke Mollema (Trek Factory Racing), Robert Gesink (Team LottoNL Jumbo), Dylan Baarle (Cannondale Garmin), Jos van Emden (Team LottoNL Jumbo) and Pim Ligthart (Lotto Soudal).
The 16.5 kilometers road race circuit for the elite men and women tackles the daunting cobbled climb of Libby Hill Park, rising up from the James River, the 110m-long 19% grade of 23rd Street, and the smoothly paved but still taxing ascent of Governor's Street. All three climbs will feature in the last 3km of the road race, creating a proving ground for worthy champions.
