On Friday and Saturday, Edward Theuns (Trek) will participate in the Revolution Champions League in Manchester, a track race where WorldTour teams compete against track teams. "I will not do too much," said Edward Theuns who will compete for the first time since its horror crash in the Tour de France.
In the first Tour de France time trial on July 15, the fierce winds blew Edward Theuns off his bike. The Belgian fractured vertebra and missed the rest of the season.
"I look forward to the track race," Theuns told Sporza. "After months of rehabilitation and training, it is nice to finally be racing again.
"I will not do too much. It's primarily a good way to test how far I am in the build-up of my form."
His back does not give him too much trouble. "I do not feel pain. But I feel that I have had a serious injury and I can still feel the consequences."
In Manchester, Theuns will ride with his Trek teammate Marco Coledan. A total of 7 World Tour teams will compete against five track teams.
