Etixx - Quick-Step rider Tom Boonen finished 10th in the group arrival of 158.5km Tour of Oman Stage 3 in Al Mussanah Sports City on Thursday, after the race came back together with about 16km to go.
Alexander Kristoff (Katusha) won the stage. Andrea Guardini (Astana) was 2nd, and Matteo Pelucchi (IAM Cycling) finished 3rd.
Perhaps the flattest stage of Tour of Oman was also one of the hottest so far, with the temperature reaching 38 Degrees Celsius at one point during the stage.
Matteo Trentin of Etixx - Quick-Step also was involved in a crash in the peloton late in the race, and was forced to withdraw from competition.
The toughest stage of Tour of Oman is on Friday. The 189km 4th Stage finishes on Green Mountain (5.7km, 10.5%).
