According to Cyclingnews, the UCI have asked the Italian investigators for the reports from the 'Pay to Ride' scandal which saw the acquittal of team managers from three Pro Continental teams. It involves Gianni Savio (Androni Giocattoli), Angelo Citracca (Wilier-Southeast) and Bruno Reverberi (Bardiani-CSF).
Savio, Citracca and Reverberi were suspected of "influencing the ability of riders to be professional, not based on sporting merit, but based on the ability to find a sponsor that guaranteed profits for the team." The managers were acquitted last week but the reports contain information that could be of value to the UCI.
According to Cyclingnews, Nicolas Valticos from the UCI has asked for an English translation of the twenty-page report, with explanations from the parties. The International Cycling Union will study the details to see if the teams qualify for a professional license.
